about me

I’m Scarlet, a LA-based multidisciplinary designer, art director, and artist. I graduated from California State University, Chico, where I received a Bachelors of Art in Studio Art.

As an artist, I express myself through traditional drawing (pen and ink) and printmaking (Linocut and screen-printing). My work tends to focus on my Mexican cultural background as a woman, personal political standpoints, and the relationship with one’s own body.

As a designer, I uphold myself to four main values: collaboration, empathy, boldness, and passion. Collaboration is the foundation of my work, where I truly believe the best results are achieved through teamwork and the exchange of ideas. Empathy is exhibited through delving into the intricacies of both user needs and business objectives, striving for a solution that truly benefits both sides. When designing, I value arriving at bold design solutions, willing to take calculated risks, where possible. Lastly, with a foundation in Fine Arts, I carry the passion of an artist throughout every project.

Outside of design, you can catch me working on a Le Puzz puzzle (sometimes on hard mode if my cat turns it into her bed), playing Cuphead on my Switch, cooking enchiladas, walking on the beach with my dog, or at a Movements concert.
